Sudan Relief USA Zakat & Donation Policy

100% Zakat Policy

Sudan Relief may operate a 100% Zakat Policy. This means that every contribution designated for Zakat may be allocated entirely to eligible beneficiaries.

100% Emergency Appeal Donation Policy

Sudan Relief may operate a 100% Donation Policy for certain emergency appeals. This means that every contribution designated specifically for these emergency appeals may be allocated entirely to the intended beneficiaries.

Sudan Relief recognizes that each donation constitutes an Amanah (a trust). Accordingly, the organization may acknowledge the responsibility and accountability associated with receiving and administering charitable contributions.

For general donations, Sudan Relief may allocate approximately 90 cents of every $1 donated toward beneficiary programs and assistance. The remaining portion may be used to support fundraising activities and cover necessary administrative and operational expenses.

 How Your Donation Is Used

Sudan Relief is committed to transparency in the way charitable contributions are allocated and managed.

For general donations, approximately 90% of each contribution is directed toward humanitarian programs and direct assistance to beneficiaries. The remaining portion is used to support essential activities that sustain and expand the organization’s impact, including outreach, donor engagement, and administrative operations.

For example, when a $100 general donation is made, approximately $90 supports program activities and beneficiary assistance, while about $10 contributes to the efforts required to maintain and grow the organization’s ability to raise funds. These activities enable Sudan Relief to reach additional donors and mobilize greater resources for communities in need.

This approach helps multiply the overall impact of charitable giving by allowing the organization to sustain its operations while expanding the scale of its humanitarian response.

Gift Aid Policy

Where applicable, Gift Aid may be claimed on eligible donations in accordance with relevant regulations. Any Gift Aid received is used to support essential organizational functions, including outreach and fundraising activities, administrative operations, and humanitarian programs that may not receive sufficient designated funding.

Sudan Relief is committed to maintaining a high standard of transparency and accountability. Donors are welcome to request information regarding how contributions are allocated, and the organization’s financial records and reports that may be publicly available.

Operational Funding Disclosure

Sudan Relief may receive financial support from a variety of sources, including but not limited to grants, Sadaqah, and other general donations.

In many cases, donors may explicitly designate these contributions as unrestricted funds that may be used to support organizational operations and administrative expenses.

These unrestricted donations may enable Sudan Relief to maintain the infrastructure, staffing, and logistical capacity necessary to effectively deliver Zakat-funded programs and humanitarian assistance on the ground.
